TAP INTO THE MOJO
Amps can sound different at different output taps, running into different speaker cabinets and some even sound better when their output impedance is purposefully mismatched to the cabinet one way or another. With some of the oldest amps there is even a difference in tone quality between 8ohm and 16ohm outputs. We know our amps in and out and how to coax the last bit of tone from them.
CLEAN POWER
We run our amps on a regulated power supply for clean and consistent power and we make sure each amp is in its sweet-spot, which results in better tone. We know on which mains power setting our vintage amps sound best (and yes, there is a difference between how the 230v and 245v tap sounds on many of the vintage British amps!).
PARTS ARE NOT JUST PARTS
After over a decade of collecting, maintaining, as well as building our own amps, we know what a difference proper maintenance makes, what difference minute details often can have, including having the vintage correct parts or best modern equivalents when replacements are required. When repairs are due, we use vintage era correct parts, right up to the correct date codes just for authenticity’s sake.
