Watch capture demos and our introduction to the Matchless Clubman here:   Playthrough of the capture set   The Matchless Clubman combines aspects of a Matchless Chieftain and an early EF86 based VOX AC30 in one complex, rich, incredibly punch amp that sounds way bigger than one would expect from this package.   It is not as aggressive as the Chieftain can get, it is somewhat politer, but with an incredible sparkle and chime up top and a massive punchy quality. It has an incredible definition and harmonic complexity that can come only from a EF86 based preamp.   We created the captures so that the incredible punch of the amp is preserved, but it might be a bit overbearing for some guitars/pickups or playing styles.   If the punch and low end is too much for your use case, simply dial down the bass knob on the ToneX EQ to anywhere between 4, 3 or even slightly lower, if you need to. The tone will be preserved and you will have the right balance. But if you need/want the full punch of the amp, just leave the bass knob on the stock position and it's all there.   The set features 24 full captures that were recorded through the Matchless 2X12 cab with Celestion G12M and G12H speakers. The mics used were 2x Royer R121, a Beyerdynamic M160 and a Neumann U87. Please refer to the full list of included captures in the product photo section.
